What it records

Site hazards

Exposed wiring, gas, standing water near power, unsound floors, sharps, loose dogs, blocked exits.

Health risks

Mould, vermin, sewage, heavy smoke, fumes and poor ventilation.

Access and conditions

Gates and codes, nowhere to park, appliances blocked in, work that needs two pairs of hands.

How to staff the visit

Send two people. Daylight only. Do not attend alone. Only with the customer present. Call ahead.

What it never records

This is a record about buildings, not about people. No names. No phone numbers. No email addresses. Nothing a technician wrote about a customer's conduct or character, and none of their free-text notes — those stay inside the company that collected them and never cross a boundary.

Addresses are stored as one-way hashes. A subscriber can look up a property they are about to attend; nobody can read the index backwards to learn where a company has been.

Why every visit gets reported

A network that only hears about problems makes a single flag read like an accusation. One dog in thirty-seven visits is information. One dog on its own is a rumour.

So technicians report the quiet visits too, and every entry arrives with the count behind it. A complete record is neutral because it is complete — not because somebody worded it carefully.

Warnings that clear themselves

A visit that never answered the hazard question can't clear a hazard by staying silent. A warning that can't be retired becomes noise, and a noisy network gets ignored at exactly the moment it matters.
